Nice sense of humor. Emphasis on food is a definite positive. Anyway if you happen to read this comment I have a question. We will be spending 5 nights in BA in January. I have reservations for accommodations in Palermo Hollywood. Looking at several maps including yours, I am thinking Palermo SOHO would be a better bet. What do you think or does it even matter?

Soho and Hollywood are both fun hoods with tons of restaurants and bars. Soho has more in the way of boutique shops and cafes than Hollywood which, for better or worse, also means bigger crowds. The public transit situation from Soho is also a little better.
In my mind, either one is good and they are close enough that you can easily walk back and forth.
